I´m going to build a concrete tank for my RTC and Clarias how do i know what size i should aim for?

imo as RTC grow very big (e.g. 3-4ft.), try to build the largest tank you can say a minimum of 350gals. goodluck on your project and please post a picture once it's completed. :woot:

tank/pond needs to be bigger!!! IMO

If you have the money and space I would go for something much bigger. 1000gl at least for the RTC if you want it to be comfortable. But if it was me I would go bigger than that.

You could imagine the size of the Amazon river, since that is where they live, but realistically, you could give them a nice home if the size of their enclosure is around 10 feet x 5 feet x 6 feet ...that would be nice for several monster fish, since you are building it. Minimum, I would say 7 feet x 3 feet x 2 feet.

i would go with 10 x 4 x 3 // or 12 long :d

I had one at 5 feet. It weighed in at over 80 lbs.

I've got a juv right now in a 400 gallon, and it's too small.
I'd suggest that the tank should be 10x6 for a foot print if not bigger. Depth doesn't matter much with these guys. Four or five feet would be nice to see, though.
