Tanning Red Arowana's

Hi all,
I will be getting a 6" chilly red in a week.I have heard about tanning arowana's,Is it necessary?If so,Then how do you do it?

6" is too young to tan and will only waste energy. I read through a lot of sites and they said the best size is when it reach over 15" and start to develop the orange on the gills and scales.

You guys are so lucky and please do share some pics with us when you get your.

once the cheek cracks some color then its time to tan ... usually size ard 12-13"

ya wait till they are 12"plus and yes it will stress you aro so you need to slowly add more and more time till its 24/7

Tannings helps
Improve the color of the fish , but natural sunlight is the best for tanning

grow the arowana to 12 inch minimum, even more.

then start tanning.
you can always tan later, but if you tan now, stress the fish, it could affects its healtha nd growth.

most of the colour comes from genetics not tanning.
