tap water filter

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've tryed units like that before and honestly they just don't cut it. You'll be disapointed both with the quality and quantity of water it puts out compared with a full ro/di system. We started out buying water and then baught our own unit. Two months later we have a three times larger system and really happy fish. The FDA allows 500 parts per million Total Desolves Solids for human consumption.
The water we take OUT of our tanks during water changes now is at about 350 TDS...

better off buying a r/o unit.... shop arround you can get them really cheap...

Since my RO/DI filter has 4 chambers, I can't imagine what only 1 would do. Be sure to test the TDS coming out of there.

that does work I have used that kind of filter for over year now. The problem is one only lasts between 75-120something gallons per unit. Its not worth it to keep buying a $50.00 unit when you could just buy the a ro/di unit for $300.00 that would last many many times longer. It is convient though.
