Hello! I’m just getting back into fish keeping and currently have four baby Geophagus Tapajos that I’m growing out. Can’t wait to see their color. I’ve kept Juruparis and the Geo Brasilenies before, but not the Tapajos. Anyway, I’m also looking for some algae eaters for my plants and heard Otocinclus are good for that. Just wondering if they’ll be safe with the RHs or end up as expensive snacks?
BTW love the earth eater picture thread, some very nice looking Geos you all have.
Thanks!

I don't think a RHT would harm an adult otocinclus. Anything bigger than a few millimeters is unlikely to be viewed as food and otos are quick off the mark. RHT aren't very aggressive and they are mostly scavengers, not predators. They *will* happily eat each other's fry, alas.

Should be fine with otos. Can always look at ancistrus or rubber lip plecos as well if looking other algae eaters.

Here’s a picture of my Brasilensis, regrettably he’s passed on. He had been very actively building a nest and just starting to grow the nuchial hump on his head.

Thanks again!
