So I've been slowly setting up my first tank in a while, I decided on some Tapajos Geo's I saw a beautiful tank online of them with some lemon tetras. Well....while I was at a chain pet store I was looking and saw some Serpae tetra which I thought would look great with some red heads, so on a whim I bought them. Later I started researching and found out they have a reputation as fin nippers, I didn't realize they would have that much of a different temperament from the Lemons. Long story short should I still introduce the geo's to the tank (they are young as well as the tetras) and see how it goes or is that too much of a risk to the geos?

PS: I'm sure this is in the wrong forum...sorry in advance. (at least I tried ?)

I recently bought 100 dollar worth of cardinal tetras to compliment my geo sveni's. The geos ate all the cardinals in a few days. Not sure if the red heads would eat or pick on the serpaes. I don't see the serpaes bothering the geos

I'm super stoked about my mistake because these dudes are so cute and loot great with my wallpaper!IMG_20200705_200942.jpgIMG_20200706_173611.jpg

I have had serape tetras with long finned tetras and they never bothered them although their fins weren’t anywhere near as long as the geos so take this with a grain of salt.

I have a shoal of them with blood parrots and others who are not very frilly and they've been no problem at all. Pretty passive and, I think, quietly cool looking fish. Definite red pop.

Welcome aboard
The Serpae is a high bodied Tetra so they may be fine with the Red Head Tapajos.
