Tapillia polleni male or female

I have a 3" pollini that i picked up about a month ago. I was fascinated with this fish from the moment i saw it. I like to know if there is anyone in Montreal area with any of these fish for sale. I would [FONT=&amp]definitely[/FONT] like to get a few more of these. Once i know it's a male or a female I would at least like to have a pair.

To small to tell. my complete stab in the dark would be female. but i do advise if u are planning on adding another one i would do asap while they are small 2-3". these fish do not do well two to a tank especially at a larger size. u will maybe get away with it if u have luck to get a pair. but trust me introduce small specimens together.

even If you get a pair you will most likely need another tank for the female. When they are not spawning she will be chased and possibly killed. They don't seem to really bond long term like other cichlids. This reason alone is why I have not been successful. My current 7 inch male will kill any dark colored fish, even fish several inches larger I have had to remove. Yet virtually leave all other colored fish alone. I am expecting a group of juvies in the next two months and I am going with a divider when I try to breed them.

It is too small to tell. The males will eventually have a streamer on the dorsal fin and a slight bump on the head. The males do get bigger too. I use to breed them a while back.
