my Chilean rose hair laid eggs about a day or two ago, Is there any way to find out if they are fertile or not. if they are what should i do to take car of them?

Was there a male present?
Can females store sperm from a male until they lay eggs? If so then they could be fertile, but if they need the male present and there isn't then obviously they aren't.

I know this is basic logical information here, but for some reason this has been asked with different fish and amphibians and the such with no male present and people wonder if they have fertile eggs.

there was no male present. but i've read somewhere that they can hold sperm for awhile. thats why i ask, but even if its not fertile what should i do just leave it in there? take it out? pic if it helps

..thats neat! never kept one before and always wanted one...

I don't really see the harm in leaving them, watch and see if they hatch or if they start going bad..if they start going bad then pull them...like fish eggs, wait and see^_^

congrats!

Spiders are not my thing, but that kinda looks like a fried egg. White on the outside yoke in the center.

That looked like a unfinished sack, they are normally completely enclosed in a purse. Yours the eggs are visible. 1 good way to tell if they were fertile is asking yourself, when is the soonest she could have been put in with a male? When did you get her?

Example:

What a egg sack is suppost to look like

This one was cut open. What urs looked like. Not enclosed at all.

i got her in november as a gift so i dont anything about her prior to her being in my care. it looks like she enclosed the eggs but nothing like in the pic you posted. and anytime i come close to the tank she protects the eggs
