Target fish for Dwarf Puffer

Hi,

What kind of tankmates could I add to a 10 gallon for dwarf puffers? I have 3 dwarf puffers, 1 male and 2 females. I've heard Ottos are OK with puffers. But what I wanted to know is could I add a small fast moving fish to act as a target/dither? Anyone try anything that worked?

Hello I had two dwarf puffs that worked with lampeyes, galay rasboras, neon tetras, cories and other puffs but these were in a larger extremely heavily planted 25g tank. I only tried these combinations due to limited room at the time, and previous experience, but would say stick to the puffs and some otos in a small space. Mainly as they are messy eaters and need the space per bioload, but also you would need a back up plan to move the fish quickly. It can depend largely on the personality of the puff, but then again you could be fine for a while and the next day they turn. No one is going to have the right answer for you as everyone's circs and puffs are different, but most I would be sure would lean to No especially with the size of the tank. Hope that helps.

Not saying puffer punk is wrong, but even Cherry Red's MAY still end up being a snack if your un-lucky...

I've seen them to be pretty sucessful. Not really sure why though, as shrimp should be pufferfood!
