Yesterday I fished the Ohio River and brought home this nice stringer.

White bass and sauger and two fish that I really love to eat so its never catch and release for me with these guys!

The saugar are BEAUTIFUL fish. Its a shame the colors dont show, but their dorsal fin is actually yellow with the black polka dots. Teeth aint too shabby either; they kind of remind me of a wolf fish in a way.

I assume Sauger taste like Walleye. If so, I wouldn't release them either. TASTY!

Haha yeah. The river is finally up to a good level. When you guys were down it was still really low and where we were walking is about 11feet underwater now!

wurm, they do like walleye :drool . A guy fishing right next to me caught a really nice walleye. Next weekend if the river stays at a good level Im going after the walleye!

The nicest walleye I have caught was a 5lber, and it fed four of us with leftovers. Excellent fish with Shore Lunch Breading and some Mayo.

nice catch. what kinda minnows were you using? tuffies? or catch your own? I have been using large creek chubs lately 3-5" in size.

No live bait, just white curly tail jigs! Oh and I caught a couple on a berkely pumpkinseed powertube.

During the warmer months I use monster chubs all the way in the 8" range to catch huge flat heads, stripe, hybrids, and blue cats at the same spot I caught these saugar.

(I dont like to catch live bait in the winter or else Id use them now!)
