Does tattooing blood parrot cichlids make them sterile?

Okay I though I heard some where that they can become sterile. Guess I was wrong. I know it kills them in the process and the survivors lives are shortened but I was positive them were also sterile

Tattooing or dying I thought I read that the acid bath and stuff done to them can. But I guess I am wrong.

dying and acid bath i could see but for tattooing a fish wouldnt they use the same type of tool they use on us
