I just got a tea cup stingray about 6" long from nose to tail tip. Pretty cool !!! Just wondering if anyone has ever had any experience feeding this type of stingray. I was told he will only accept live food but may start eating frozen. I am trying to get him to eat ghost shrimp as I am told they do not eat fish. Any suggestions on what I can feed him other than ghost shrimp that can survive in water. I know they will eat earthworms but they do not live long in water.

I would try black worms most rays will go for them. You probably got a reticulated stingray and it sounds like a pretty tiny one. Hope you have good luck getting it to eat they can be a bit testy. Look for posts from Miles he is very good with these rays and would probably give you a ton of great advice.

Yhea Miles could give him ton of advices.. :) But I think he would kick his ass first for not doing any research.. :nilly: :D

Ghost shrimps are ok, buy try black worms or forzen bloodworms (they have never faild me). You could use live blackworms, but try the frozen bloodworms first. They have NEVER faild me and are cheap and easy to get.

Try frozen bloodworm or earthworms but you will need to chop them into tiny pieces if your ray that small. They worked for my rectics. Good luck.

if you look in farm supply stores or online you can get baby red wiggler earthworms and you wont need to cut them up....

I already feed the other fish in my tank frozen blood worms just wanted to make sure the lil fellow was eating. Black worms are easily gotten also but did not know you could get them frozen. Will try earthworms my concern was more that with the other fish in my tank the lil guy can find his food before the other fish ate it up which is why I was thing live food would be better.

take a turkey baser ( spelling... ) and suck them up... and then stick the tube down by the ray and sqweez them out..

clear piece of plastic tube (HD lowes LFS) all have it... doesnt even have to be clear but lets the food sink and the other fish cant eat it...
