You may house a lil one in a 150g for life, not really that hard, weekly WC,pick up poo when you see it,n feed them like pigs....i have one in a 125g now!!
"tea cup" stingray isn't a specific species. It generally refers to young rays (usually retics or motors) imported at a small size. Motoros are generally hardier and considered one of the best beginner rays, but get HUGE (like 30-36" disk for a female). Retics are smaller, and sometimes cheaper, but it can be hard to get them to feed well, and many are pretty fragile at first.

I agree that you can house a little ray in a 150, but not for life. Little rays grow into big rays
All rays need a fairly large tank and heavy filtration to maintain very good water quality for them.
I think both of you need to check out the stingray section of the forum (under bottom dwellers), specifically the stingray profiles
Retic stingrays are very sensetive to nitrates not hardy at all water must be pristine always i had one that i bought at 5" and lived to be 10" i found out the hard way
