Anybody got any ideas on how to make a bass that has been raised on goldfish, and shiners for 4 years eat vitamin rich cichlid food??? I am trying to get rid of HITH in my bass and I tried Melafix but it has no effect. My bass has eaten worms so maybe I can just feed him worms until his diesase goes away.

i dunno, thats probably going to be really hard. fish are so much easier to pellet train when they are small and have fish around them that are already pellet trained.

Hold the goldfish over the water untill he sees it then drop it in, do this for a couple of days. Once he starts hitting the fish the second they touch the water, start throwing in crickets. Crickets look alot like pellets, he should love them. After hes weened onto crickets, start thowing in some pellets with the crickets. Eventtually he'll start eating the pellets, then start giving him less crickets. Give him a few crickets every once in a while as a treat. I did this with a grass pickerel, which is one of the hardest fish to pellet train.
