So it is 4ft by 3ft base dimensions external filter and I will probably get a bigger one soonUhhh....just curious because I hear the term "teacup" thrown around a lot when people want a tiny tiny stingray: how big is your tank?
Well too small mate, plus there is no such thing as a tea cup ray.So it is 4ft by 3ft base dimensions external filter and I will probably get a bigger one soon
Teacups a nickname for it the proper name is Potamotrygon scobina and its not for a juvenile they tend to max out around 15 inch maxWell too small mate, plus there is no such thing as a tea cup ray.
I looked into this a few years ago. If I remember correctly there are a few larger rays that look very close to the "teacup" rays and are sold as those. You have to be sure the seller is/has the correct info. Same goes with the "dwarf" rays just because both parents are "dwarf" doesn't mean their offspring will be also.Technically both of you are right. There is no one species designated “teacup ray,” but it is a common name for any of the small , 15 inch range, potamotrygon species.
