Try freshwater reticulated ray, another common selling name.

Uhhh....just curious because I hear the term "teacup" thrown around a lot when people want a tiny tiny stingray: how big is your tank?

So it is 4ft by 3ft base dimensions external filter and I will probably get a bigger one soon

Well too small mate, plus there is no such thing as a tea cup ray.

Teacups a nickname for it the proper name is Potamotrygon scobina and its not for a juvenile they tend to max out around 15 inch max

Technically both of you are right. There is no one species designated “teacup ray,” but it is a common name for any of the small , 15 inch range, potamotrygon species.

I looked into this a few years ago. If I remember correctly there are a few larger rays that look very close to the "teacup" rays and are sold as those. You have to be sure the seller is/has the correct info. Same goes with the "dwarf" rays just because both parents are "dwarf" doesn't mean their offspring will be also.
