Hi I notice that it's hard to clean this pool sand comming from the bag is there a technique on how to wash it or??? I notice it's not easy to clean it...I'm trying to set up a tank using it.

i got a 10g bucket i fill with water and leave the hose going in it while i pour the sand in. most of the dust will wash out on the way down to the bottom of the bucket. push the hose into the sand and move it around. drain the water and put into tank with the tank empty. fill the tank trying not to disturb the sand, once full turn on your filters. the rest of the dust and dirty will come out through the next few weeks. stir the sand weekly until you dont get any more dust
I clean my sand just because (basically the same way), but I get very little dirt/dust/or finer sand particles for the stuff I purchase from the pool suppliers. Either better quality or luck (I'm thinking luck here

i just added 75lbs of pool filter sand to the 150, i didnt get much dirt but plenty of dust a foamy crap when i washed it. the tank is a little foggy but not too bad
Heres is how i clean sand:
-Get your bag-o-sand, a bucket big enough to hold the sand and a little extra water.
-Fill the bucket with water
-Pour the sand into the bucket so that the sand fall through the water. (the water sashes the sand on the way down)
- Stick the water hose in the sand and poke around until the water is clear.
-Pour the excess water out and add the sand to the tank
