Well about 5 minutes ago all hell broke loose.
My cousin decided to do a waterchange in a new way: siphoning the water out through a waterhose then adding water via same hose, as to avoid backpain caused by bucket changes.
So we had already siphoned one tank and filled it with the hose method just fine. Then we went on to the second tank and my cousin had this INGENIOUS idea: "lets pump the water in this tank out through the water hose"
Well, i told him that water hoses dont pump water out, they pump it in. He continued his thing while i held the pump in his tank. Water was flowing in and he said, "ok close the flow" so i proceeded to turn the knob to stop flow on the pump. THEN the bad stuff happened.
The tube flew off the pump and went all over the place, wettening his bed, stereo system, xbox, and all electric outlets. About 2-4 gallons emptied into his room in total.
Lesson learned? Just stick with bucket changes and things like this won't happen.
