I've got a 8' long 240g tank I'm wanting to do a coast to coast overflow. I've seen overflows with teeth and without. is it just a looks preference? my tank will house Bichirs primarily and I'm worried they'd get in to the piping if there's no teeth. any thoughts???

Personally would go with the teeth.

Yep, teeth. I can’t tell you how many times my fish have been right up next to the overflow. Without teeth saving fish would be a daily thing.
