But even when you've found the exact spot to put the pellet in, and what angle to drop it in at, and how high above the water to release it for best depth where 'propulsion loss' occurs, it's path still varies due to the genuine randomness of a swirling fluid with fish in it. Thus, two pellets dropped in the same place regardless of most controllable variables will end up in slightly different places.
