I was giving the tanks a good stare and noticed a new skeleton on the bottom of one of my tanks. It was (I'm assuming) a rubberlip pleco...about 1.5"?

The suspects are a trio of tinfoil barbs all juvies... a Sydontis catfish at about 4"...and a Reclusive...but mean...Sun catfish.

Best pic I can get...only seen active at nigh and during feeding time...sometimes... what I have seen is him going after the nosey Sydontis. He took no time to assert his dominion of the tank. The pleco had been doing just fine, but I think it too got too nosey at night and there you go...skeleton.

Anyone else keep the interesting little(so far) catfish.

Ive got one thats fairly large (8-9"), hes very lazy and will occasionally chase my Hoplo around, all the fish in the tank generally get out of his way but the hoplo s the only one he actually goes after. Im thinking if a sun cat killed the pleco there wouldnt be a skeleton left but maybe he just roughed it up and the barbs picked it clean.

Not sure man.. I had to 2 incher that lived with my 14" spotted bullhead... The bullhead was eating goldfish bigger than it but would never mess with the suncat.. soon I quit seeing him and it was almost a year before I saw him again I thought he was dead.. lol.. this was in a 180 highly planted and diftwood tho

kept mine with aggressive cichlids of all kinds and never had any trouble. spent most his time hiding, would shoot out at feeding time and he did grow quite fast.
never bothered any tankmates though

I actually got him from from a local petstore he came in with a order of ghost shrimp (guess he broke in and was eating good..they didn't know what he was and sold him to me for $1 and that was about 5 years ago.. but I recently was fishing in my girlfriends pond and discovered a whole bunch of adults. I can look in to some babies if you want and I will post pics soon
