Tem Color fading

My Tem has been in the tank for several weeks. He has grown and looks healthy ecept for loosing some color. He eats well!! Is this normal? Here are pics from when I first put him in the tank and now.

Could have a lot to do with the substrate that you have. Actually, that's probably it.

both of these are very high possiblilities imo. a spike in ammonia,nitrate or nitrite could be the cause.

I was just completing a salt treatment for an Ich outbreak. Did a water change yesterday and today his color is much brighter!!
