Ok so i got a few 2.5-3" Tema last night all are doing well but one... He seems to have trouble breathing (nothing else in the tank does).. I feed them last night and he was the only one that didnt eat... He swimming in a vertical position (mouth at the top of the water)... then evryone started to pick on him.. Soooo I put him in a 1 gallon net so no one picks on him and he seems to be doing a bit better But he looks REALLY SKINNY!!!!! Kinda scary skinny..... i tried blood worm and frozen krill he wont eat any of it... I know for a fact these guys were raised on krill and BW, but he just wont eat.. I really didnt think he was going to make through the night, but he did and he is still alive... WHAT DO I DO???

Thanks guys/gals

sorry for your loss bro..:irked:

hmm...sorry for the loss man. Could have been parasitic..which is a possibility when feeding heavy on BW. Besides that I would say Swim bladder issue which hampered his swimming, and in turn his ability to eat. Sorry I didnt see this sooner, but if he wouldn't take anything there wasn't much you would have been able to do.

Did this happen over a slow progression, or one day to the next sort of thing?

I had just brought him home when it happened... I havent heard of blood worms having PARASITES!!!!!! That worries me alot.... I have been feeding all my "littleguys" Blood worms for a while now... I have been trying to keep them off of feeders so i dont have a huge feeding issue in the future... any suggestions on food? (i also have been giving them live red worms)

Sorry for your loss! I believe frozen hikari blood worms and equivalents are parasite free. It's the live bloodworms or blackworms that are known to carry parasites.

Correct, frozen is fine...my mind jumped to live when I was replying.

Sorry for your loss. You should post in the disease section next time you have a problem like this. You might get a faster reply that way. Or PM Lupin. He seems to be the resident expert on fish diseases and such.
