My Timensis and oscars are showing some signs of ich. I have already raised the temp to 87 degress and would like to also start salt treatment as suggested in previous posts. I just want to verify that my Temensis, oscars and red tail cat will be able to handle the treatement. What's the best salt to use for treatment? I was also thinking about using ich attack. Anybody have some feedback on ich attack?
Thanks in advance
Shawn

The oscar and peacock can definitely handle the salt at the level required (2tsp/1gal), I have not kept redtails, I assume you mean P. hemioliopterus, but considering that they thrive at dH 10 and some of the areas in Florida that they have been introduced into are lightly brackish, I foresee no problems for the 10 days of treatment required. just keep an eye on it's whiskers and eyes. If the eyes start to cloud or the whiskers start to erode then remove it to a lower salt level, also all three fish will tolerate temps to the low 90s as long as the is enough aeration.

Thanks for the info!! Now i just need to figure out what kind of salt to get. I heard somebody mention evaporated seasalt from home depot??
