what is the average growth rate of baby temensis????? might be grabbing some soon just whant to know what im in for?? cheers

It depends on there feeding frequency and water quality. But at 1 inch they can be 7-10 inches in a year.

cheers boys i got monos witch are bout 35 cm from 1 half inch in 10 months so just wondering how long till i could mix them toghther.. not shaw on the size of the tems yet tho so ill just have to wait n see

super fast growers.....should grow an easy 1-2" a month if water quality is good. Def not a bass for the novice cichla keeper. They need monster tanks....id say 1000+g.....to where most others could stay in a 180+ for a good few years depending on stocking. Tems are beasts of the cichla world.`

WHAT?!?!?

Have you ever owned a Cichla? If so, could you tell me which cichla grows to 7-10 inches in the first year? All the cichla I grew reached 12-15'' in the first year. Tems being the faster growers of the cichla that are available, If kept properly, expect 12-16'' the first year. After the first year, expect .5'' per months.

Ok, so fact I bought my tem at 3 inches. I have had him 11 months he is now 18 inches. he did reside in a 600 gallon for the last 7 months with huge amounts of foods.
