Temensis in trouble!

my mono/ocel is bullying my temensis!!! he is only a few cms bigger than the temensis but he keeps on chasing him around....

i really thought that the temensis would be bigger than him but i was wrong:( i guess its bcoz of the sizes of the fishes i keep my pbass is with that i though he was smaller....

what should i do?

i've heard temensis grow incredibly fast. so should i just wait? or should i put him in an oscar tank for a while?
 
try putting more hiding spots in the tank, and try and break the tank up a bit so they have there own area's to hide, if that doesnt work then you could seperate them till the tem grows a bit bigger.

that's pretty much correct!! all cichla that are kept in schools always have an outcast which gets picked on...if i were you i'd put it inthe oscar tank for a few months and really feed him up!! go with BH and live feeders!!
 
The same happend to my zuli. My Occi's were kicking its ***. It got so bad he stopped eating and looked like he might die.
I had no room to seperate them, so I sold the 2 occi's.
 
Tems are tough but you made need to seperate them for a while unilt he can protect himself better.
 
hey guys, thanks for the help and concern, but i took the initiative and what most of you guys suggested, and i put him in the oscar tank. i think he's ok.

so heres the new plan. since i think that the pbass had already established his "territory" in the tank, i will wait for the temensis to outgrow him (like a month) and put him back in when he's big enough not to be bullied.

I just thought that the pbass wasn't bullying the other fishes he was with coz most of em were bigger than him. what dya think? will that work?
 
when u put the tem back in he will start bullying everything else. u need HIDING SPACES and lots of them, what size tank do u have and what other type of fish do u have? tems are the meanest and will pretty soon eat anything smaller or at least try!!
