I've been after some p-bass for a while but couldn't find any locally.

Now I've located some and they have two species temensis or ocellaris.

Any input on which one you guys would keep?

Any big differences between the two?

ocellaris they look nicer imo but be carefull with small ones can get muddled up!! will have some in couple of weeks at 2-3"

Are you getting them from wholesale tropicals? I ordered 2 tems and 1 occellaris from therm a few months back. Luckily the 'occellaris' grew up to an orino so I was very happy. I would go with tems bearing in mind that they grow well over 2 foot. You would need a huge tank or pond. I also have some occellaris from another source and they are awesome too. What size tank do you want to keep them in? That should be the decider.

tems....i like the white spots, on the other hand......ocell's have the green to them...hummmmmm.....BOTH!!!

thanks for the input everyone.

yeah i was going to get them from wholesale tropicals as they usually have good quality stock.

they'll be kept in a 72"x18"x21" till they grow out of it. The ones on sale are only like 5-6cm so I'll have at leasta year before I have to think upgrades.

penman where are you based in the uk, will you have some for yourself or some to sell?

I would say get a couple of each. They are both awesome fish and it's better to have some variety. I have 2 tems, 1 orino and 3 occells and they all look great. Good luck with your peacock bass and get saving for their monster tank. Let us know what you get and post pics please.
