Hi wanted to know if I can keep my Datnoid tank at 84 it says on web to keep it at 75-79 I wanted to keep it at 84 because I have some clown loaches in with it and I don't want them to get ich

I have my clown loaches in a tank that is constantly at 78*F. They have NEVER had ick at that temperature and I don't have salt in the water.

raising the temp also will raise their metabolism... had to keep my tank at 84 for the peacock bass i used to own... think the raised temp sped things up metabolicly speaking for everything in the tank... not a good thing if you want longevity...

Also, my dat is in the same tank at 78*F and he's perfectly stable.

you say you dat nots dats so i take it you only have one this could also be why its stable as they do better on there own

you also say its with clown loach so you ph must be low this could also be why its stable

you cant base low temp on it being stable as many factors play a part

i keep my tank at 86 and some of mine are stable

mmmmmm my ST is over 8 years old so i dont think this is true also they are slow growing so the warmer water makes them grow better
