hey guys i'm in the process of putting new floors in my house and while i have the tank out of the room i'm thinking of painting the back glass of my tank.My question is if i put my fish in a rubbermaid container will they be ok with just an airstone and heater for 1-2 days.

Why not simply transfer your whole filtration system too? Can't say 'yea or nae' since there's no mention of the species involved, their sizes, tank size, bin size. How about a little help here?

The thing is, this darn thing is on the fritz. So, I can't see for myself.

I did it when I move and they were fine just make sure they are not crowded and like oddball said there's no mention of species and tank size so sa maybe it depends on that one too.

thing is i have two juvi dovii and a clown pleco
they are currently in a 55gal(going to a 240 by christmas) and the bin size is about 40 gallons
The reason i cant use a filter is because both of the hobs i have intake tubes are really short and i was not planning on filling the bin to this height (fear of bowing and breaking)
I know i can get the floor done tonight but if the tank has not dried then there lies my problem

no problem.. go for it ;)

i have prolly 5 rubbermaid setups for temp homes as well, luckily my mom likes to be organized and prolly has 30 in the 40 gallon range, so i just through in all my pairs and new fish in there for a week while i get my new tanks cycled and stoof, some rubber maids are annoying because they have little holes where the handles are so the hangon filters are like 4-5 inches off the water, should be fine if you have you filtration, not sure about with just a bubbler never tried that before maybe if you changed water a ****load like every 6 hours jsut to take it safe do like a 40 percent water change with clean water not right out of the tap

did you try running the filter on it youll be surprised as long as its under the water an inch id say it will run just help it along a bit by dumping water in the filter box, i dont fill the water past the handles so you should be fine, could always make ext tubes out of pvc

I have used storage containers many times, if you do not use a filter than go for daily partial water changes, also in larger containers it is best to put a frame around them asthe wieght of the water will deform them
