Temp of Oscar

My tank is just about over the ick so the temp is at 88 degrees. I have an Oscar too. Can I leave the temp at 88 or should I lower it a little bit. He seems to like it and is more active

Once your sure the ich is gone i would lower it to around 79 maybe 81. 88 is to warm for a constant temp

Oscars do fine anywhere from 74 to 82 for best health and longevity. Going colder will affect their immune system and warmer will accelerate their metabolism - which is okay in the short term but ultimately stressful over years. From what I know.

Keep it where you like it. If you like the extra activity and don't mind paying a bit more to keep heater going i say do it. 88 Won't kill the fish no not a perfect temp a little high but if you like the extra activity keep it there.
