Temp tank size ?

So i am home for holiday break at my parents house. I found a RTCxTSN and a RTC at a LFS. Both are 2"-3". If i bought a small 10 gallon tank would it be alright to keep them in it for a week or two? I can get a RTC at my LFS back where i live, would it be better to just get the RTCxTSN and keep it in it?

Thats what i was thinking. I figure it would be in a tank that size at the LFS for sometime anyways. But what about both the RTC and the hybrid?

I kept One of mine in a 10G till it was almost 8 inches long That needed 2 water changes a day... but it didn't bother the RTC that much keeping the pair in there at 3"... NO PROBLEM for a while... Did I mention that it only took 3 weeks for the RTC to get to 8"?
