The temperature in my city has been incredibly high for the last 3 days, consequently, my tanks' temperature rose to 31 or 32 celcius until I installed my climatisation. I take the nitrates reading after each wc and today, the level is 3 to 5 ppm higher than it is habitualy. Since I have not changed anything else (food, cleaning schedule), my deduction is that high temperature speed out the decomposition of organics thus the higher nitrates reading.

Am I right ? Someone observed something like this ?

My guess would be since the temps are up, this fish's metabolism is higher, thus more detritus. The increased amount of detritus would increase your nitrate levels.

Like Pharaoh, I would blame it on the increased metabolism of the fish...

i have like max nitrate levels my fish are still doing good, think its only myth

And thousands of heavy smokers insist that smoking doesn't have ill effects...

Define what "max" nitrates are in your aquarium? High levels may not kill your fish, but it certainly isn't good for them.

I am absolutely convinced that nitrates are realy bad for the fish. I always keep them around 5 ppm. I used to keep the level at 20ppm and my fish were constantly having health issues (fin rot, shorter life), even if the tanks were fully cycled. It's been three years since I keep it around five : nomore health issues. Nitrates affect the immune system.
