Where can I get an inexpensive temperature controller that I can plug my stealth heater into?
I want redundancy in case my heater gets stuck on.

will it work with a heater that already has it's own thermostat? i thought these were only made for use with titanium heating rods. but i own a Ranco controller and its great. these are sold by Jehmco

I just want a digital thermostat with a temperature probe and a 110vac output that can handle at least 300w. I could build one myself but I'd rather just buy one for $20-30.

yeah the controller i got from Jehmco is like that. its a Ranco ECT1R controller with dual plug outlets. i'm running a 1000w and a 500w titanium rods. that Ranco contoroller can handle 1800w.

they sell the Ranco controller and 500w heater for about $115

I'll second the Ranco controllers! Alot of reef keepers use them as do I.

I use the Ranco from Jehmco as well. They are fine to use with stealths. You just want to have the temp on the stealth to be a bit higher than the controller. This will give the controller the ultimate say in what goes on.
