I have a 40 Gallon tank with 2 young Oscars in it now. I have a heater and it is set to default temp which runs about 78-80. Is this temperature sufficient for the size of tank and the 2 young fish. Also the heater is on the opposite side of the thermometer so i know the water temp is what it reads. Any input would be of much help. Thank you

I keep my cichlids at about 76-78 so i think your fine. Same temp for young and adult. Ya good idea to keep heater near filter to so tank is even temp.
