Tempered or not?

So within the next month or so I will be upgrading tanks and I am planning on using a 125 that I have as a sump. I plan on including an auto drip to the tank and want to drill a drain in the side of the 125 tank/sump. It is an older tank I bought used, so if it breaks I won't be too upset, other than my only other option for a sump is a 75. I saw this video and was wondering if this really is a viable way to discern tempered from non-tempered glass? thanks

What is the manufacture? If its all glass then bottom is tempered sides are not.

I believe you can use polarized sunglasses and it will have lines in the glass if it's tempered like in the windows of a car.
