I found this research paper on the evolution of CA cichlids and thought is was so interesting I wanted to share it. If it’s been done before I apologize. I found it very interesting.

In post one I referanced a thread I posted awhile back that has a link to a paper on the evalution of CA cihlids. It says in a nut shell new world cichlids colinized Central America form the South. Ancesters of Umbie and Festae both moved into the north but then re-colonized the south. That's why they are similar to CAs but more closely related to the SA. Umbie bare a reseblance to the GT as both my have evolved off the same evoultionary branch. I'm no expert on this stuff I just like reading about it.

This is the link if you care to look at it.
