I plan on putting my fish in a kiddie pool so that I can drain the tank and remove some scratches in the acrylic. They're only going to be in there for a few days to a week so I'm trying to spend as little as possible. The tank has a sump with a lingerie bag of marix, another of biomax and a block away f Marine pure. I have an air pump laying around so I'm thinking just put airstones under the bags of bio and putting my wavemakers on the side of the pool should be enough for bio, since it's a short term setup I'm not concerned with mechanical filtration. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Whats to keep them from jumping out?
Dont get anything puncturable, dont want leaks
Didn't have a plan for that, going to have to think that one over. I'm think about the plastic ones with the soft bottom, not inflatable. The solid ones I've seen advertised are all under 12" deep where's the ones I'm looking at are 18".

What size fish? A stock tank from tractor supply would hold most fish comfortably for days. Think that some fish are shipped in a box for 2 days just fine. Just put all of your bio media on a filter to it and probably avoid feeding a couple days prior and for the duration of.

Not sure what fish you keep, may change things.

Thought of stock tanks but at $150 for a 150 vs $20 for a 8'x18" pool the pool sounds better since I have no other use for a stock tank.

We had borrowed one from a local pond place, they sell koi in them and had some extras sitting around.

Plus the stock tank will last for years and you could use it elsewhere. Makes a great sump or grow out tank. Just something to think about. You already have a good reason to buy it.
