So I am in the process of finishing my basement, but I have 1 big problem. My 150g.

I have a bowfin, 6 clown loaches, and 6 8-12inch bichirs. I am trying to think of a temporary way to get them and the tank out of the way, for maybe 2 weeks tops.

Some of my ideas would be maybe to get a rubber maid with a ac70 on it to hold them for a little bit, while emptying the tank mostly and moving it.

Or I have a 29g that might work similarly.

Also, would my 150g, with some water in it, without my 2 big cannister filters running still maintain its bacteria and cycle?

If you can't relocate the tank to another location in the basement until your work is done then I suggest you go the 29 gallon route. How big are these fish?...The bacteria will most likely die eventually if there is nothing in the tank to feed them.

It will be a 2 week period probably, the bichirs are bigger 10-12.

I'd personally set up 2 larger rubbermaid tubs. And run one of the canisters on each. Allows you to maintain better water quality by having the stock more spread out and keeps the biological bacteria alive in the filter.

Keep them in the smaller tank but keep the water fresh.I'd say change about 25% every few days...edit,Kevin posted while I was still typing but he gives a good suggestion.
