joe hate to bother you again but i see you say to stay away from live feeders??? why? is it because of parasite infestations? I dont like to feed live feeders anyway because of the cost and pain of picking them up all the time, but i happen to have a large pair of breeding black convicts and im pumping out fry on a regular basis. Would these tank raised convicts be good food?

live feeder will bring desease to your piranha...there are tons of diet out there you can feed your piranha.

Convict fry are best live diet you will ever have. it bred in your tank and go directly to your piranha tank. lots of people do that so it's normal and yes it's safe.

i keep my piranha temp 78-82f.

goldfish are no bueno, there are just far too many negatives to even take the risk. convicts that you breed yourself should be just fine, just keep an eye on them to be sure they are healthy.

ok thanks yeah they seem to be quite healthy i have about 2 to 3 hundred right now in 2 tanks.
