Hey guys. Last year in my 90 gal my electricity bill went up due to the heaters. My temps were kept at 80 and still are. I've been lOoking at the care sheet and it says temp range should be from 75 - 82. I was thinking of dropping my temp to 75. Think that would be okay?

I keep mine at 78 and they seem to enjoy it much more than they did at 82, shouldn't be too much of an issue.

U ain't gonna saves much by dropping temp. Pennies, or cents. Lol
I reckon a temp of 24-26 c is fine .

I keep my temp at 85F. My dats seems to like it.

come on if you think you are going to save money by dropping the temp a bit in a 90 gal you are crazy you want to try heating a 1000 gal with 2kw of heaters

if you want them to eat better and grow faster then keep the temp at 84-86

anything below 82 is to low in my eyes

by dropping the temp you may save 10 cents 15p per month

if you cant afford to heat a tank how can you afford to feed them

Why do you think it wouldn't save? I'd imagine that the heaters would have to work a lot less putting my temps up to 75 rather than 80?

once the temp gets to 86 it will take time to cool down which wont be fast

also if you run 2 x 300w they will be on a lot less than one

you are talking about so little money you would save more money by not using the internet for this post

why not stop using your pc dont have any lights on in your house dont watch tv dont use a microwavee and stop listerning to music

or is you use a sump you can cover it in poly or insulate you filter area

i was running 2 x 500w heaters in my 1000g and the heaters were on all the time so i added 2 more 500w giving me 4 x 500w and they dont come on as much

Agree with T1 there, the saving will be pocket change.

Unless your tank is in a room with very low ambient temperature all the time, by using 2 300w heaters, they will only come on when room temperatures drop rapidly or after waterchanges
