I just had a rather tempting offer of 2 tanks 6 foot X 2.5. with filters stands and hoods for less than $300.
If I sat them side by side they would fill one entire wall of my living room.
If I then connected them with an aqua bridge I would have 12x2.5x2.5 a large stable body of water.
Would this be an affordable way to have my dream tank with 6 peacock bass and a chili arowana.
I realise that I would have to make the aqua bridge myself to allow for the size these fish can reach but the mental picture has got me intrigued.
Any thoughts?

Tanks sound good, you don't have to connect through an aqua bridge though. You could just have them share a common sump.

Aren't Asian aro illegal in Austraillia?

You could just take off one of each of the ends of the tanks and then seal them together.

Why don't u just save the 300 tward your big tank of your dreams? Like instead of having them connected, which may look weirdish, just get a big tank like 300+, I think they're 8ft long

I'd probably jump on the deal, even if you don't use them for your living room or make a bridge to link them. 2 180's with filters, stands, and hoods for less than $300? That's a great deal on the tanks, whatever you use them for. Hell, you can take them to canada and make bank reselling them. :) AndyCook is looking at a 35g planted for $400 up there. ;)

yeah id jump all over that as well no questions asked if i had the room to put 2 monsters like that

2 reasons I am thinking aqua bridge. Other than OH WOW!
I think the arowana will need the full 12 feet of tank space to move around in and not feel trapped or restricted in just one 6 footer.
The aro's are legal here in OZ. Captive bread about $300. AU. Huge outlay for a fish but if the 2 tanks would provide what it needs then worth every penny.
To build my dream tank and the stand then buy filters and pumps would break me and then I refuse to think what the minister for War and Finance would do to me, when she found out the cost.
I am definately going to follow up on the tanks next week when I see the person again.
