i need some help with the temp in the tank for snakeheads some people have the tank at approx 78degrees F and others have the temp set at a much lower temp
can these fish live happily in 78 degrees f water? or will they die.:feedback:thks
im looking for temp on rainbow channa

Bleheri (rainbows) are sub-tropical.
Cooler temps. Especially this time of the year. Can go up to low end tropical temps for a while during the summer.

Hi there jacks,

Check out the sticky 'Snakeheads keeping conditions'. Loads of info in there about how s/h`s should be kept.

Channa rainbow??? Do you mean Channa bleheri perhaps?

i want to put the rainbow channa in a tank with piranhas partitioned of course just until i get another tank, in the snakehead info section it says 72F and up i can drop the piranha tank to 77F MAYBE 76F would this be ok for rainbow channa

just the one, im getting the species you recommended to me thks again, the tempurature is always stable usually 78fah, the new channa will have 2ft by 1 and half foot space maybe 2 x 1, i think this is sufficent bearing in mind the fish only grows to 8inch

that temp should be good

maintain the temp at 22C for most of the year and for a couple of months drop it to 18C. This is similar to their environment where they have cold melt water come down the river. it keeps them healthy (:
