HI guys, This is one of my 20inch temensis guarding his/her eggs in a garden pond. the clutch of eggs are even wider than an open fist! the weirdest thing is that it looks like this tem paired with a monoculus, i do not have pictures of them together but they seem to be a pair guarding these eggs from my three other tems and another monoculus.

If this comes out to be true, that interbreeding between cichla species is possible, i have some questions.. What will the offspring look like? WIll the parents form a permanent pair or is there a chance they might pair up with their own kind next time? Thanks

Of course there is a chance that it's two diff sp. They may pair differently later on I think. There are some pics in the sticky pic thread that resemble what one might look like. I'd like to see that tem out of the water. It looks like it's got more than 3 bars.

Thats sweet! Can't wait to see the fry when thye get a cpl of inches on them:popcorn:
