Anybody keep them? I hear so often that they are difficult to care for, but when I speak to someone who has actually kept them rather than just reading off the internet, they seem relatively easy (for at least a semi-experienced herper) and fun to keep. I've seen them for sale at expos beforeeee, but nowhere online. But if I do come across one, I might just get a couple.

Copied and pasted from other thread lol.
I've tried to speak to as many people that have kept these snakes and in the main most have said it has been much easier than their reputation lets on. A few people have bred them and have a few generations no problems with freshwater. A lot use blackwater extract though. That, the right temperature and I believe allowing enough room for the air above the tank to not become stale and too humid. However some people seem to keep them in full water no access to land, others in smaller amounts of water with land access and say they seem them on it a reasonable amount. Certainly an interesting species though. I have a PDF article study on them somewhere, I'll have to look to see if it mentioned water conditions. PM me your email and I'll send you the study if you want (although you may already have it).

Just to give you an example of variation in how people keep them http://www.viperandvine.com/id29.html

Personally I'd like to give them some deeper water than that also as I know they're wild striking position and I don't think that amount of water would allow them to do it.
