So I just got my D40x dslr but am completely clueless on how to operate it to it's fullest ability. I ended up doing flashless auto for the time being. Needless to say I have a lot to learn.

The GT I got from a local LFS was presumably a female.. could I get some cnfirmation on that? Also has it colored up much better than it was when I previously had it. The pic below with it in the gravel was while it was in quarantine.

Nice looking fish, I especially like the second to last pic.

The GT is definitely female. Your pleco looks like an L-066, or King Tiger.

L066 indeed :) Got him from John (snookn21) wishing I'd gotten a 3pack from him instead with the personality and aggressiveness that guy has. Instead I got a spotted medusa and peppermint along with the L-066. Makes it fun when we see the other 2 though as those were my wifes favorites, specifically the spotted medusa.

You have excellent taste in Plecos! I own a King Tiger as well (though not as pretty as yours) and at one point in time I had a medusa, until the Tiger killed him.

Have you gotten any pictures of the Medusa or Peppermint? FTS?

I have a few that I took when I first got them with my point n shoot of the peppermint.. I have NONE of the medusa. That poor thing is so timid she stays nestled int he rock work I've made on teh right hand side of the tank. There's about 40-50lbs of round river rock stacked in various ways with a large clay pot under it and moss and driftwood lining the outside. Needless to say she's happy in there where it stays dark.

Here's what I have of the peppermint:

I can't believe your Tiger is out and about like that with the lights on. I'm jealous.

=D There are 4 plecos total in there hiding. Forgot to mention the clown pleco also. The tiger is the only one we see out at all.. ever basically. He doesn't care when the lights are on, though he's not as bold as he was whe I took the pics unless I have recently thrown some food in the tank. He lets the loaches eat behind him and will fight the smaller thor. meeki and smaller carpintis that come near him while he's feeding. He's a great looking fish no doubt :) You should order a few from John ;)
