So, pretty sure my catfish is a pseudodoras niger, but the last specialty fish shop I was in had one identical to mine that was labeled as "terasuki catfish". Just wanted to clarify that they are one and the same. Also, everyone I've spoken to, and all the threads I've read note that they are very docile and good community tank cat.... He's always been wonderful with the platys that were put in the tank to seed it almost one year ago, until about the last month he's chowed down all 9 of them. So, I've given up on the platys and am wondering what else would be good as a tankmate with him. He's about 16" long right now.
Thanks all! New to the site and looking forward to some feedback :)

Your spelling is a little off but its the same cat. Turushuki cat is one of its many names.

Very cool catfish. Hard to come by. Your tank mates need to be over 6 inches and thats about it. The catfish is gentle and also armored to the bone! Gets a good 24inches + though so make sure the tank is big enough. How big is the tank btw? I have actually heard of people tanking these with piranha and it working (I do not recommend that though)because of the armor plating. What is it eating just out of curiosity. Post some Pics!

yes they do get about 3 feet or so. They also do not turn around very well as they are not very flexible. I have one at about 30" and he is definitely still growing. Pretty much anything that is too big for his mouth is fine. They are not aggressive catfish at all.
