Can you Folks tell me some things you do to prep the pots
before you submerge them and also what are some different
types of cutters you are using to make bigger holes or whatever

I also hose it down and just dump it in. As far as making the hole bigger, I use a hammer and bash the rim. Its not pretty but it never shatters like you would think. it just leaves a rectangle door way every time. heres one that my flowerhorn uses.

I leave them outside in the rain for a few weeks.Then cut holes in them with a dremel
 
Masonary or tile saws and drills work great
