Terracotta pots

Hey i just got some terra cotta pots from my local walmart and hit then with a hammer. I am going to put them in my tank , and was wonder how i should clean them before i put them in.

Since they are very porous, I don't use chemicals to clean them as they may not rinse out and then later leach into the water...

I would set them in the driveway and squirt them with a hose... it's very unlikely that there are "deadly chemicals" on them... but a little rinse never hurts...

Water will be fine, I don't do anything, but still just in case some potting soil got on it the water will help to rinse it up.

i boil some water .. and then shut the heat off .. them sit them in the water and let it sit for 10-15 min .. dont know if it really helps .. but it makes me feel better ..

Boiling stuff makes me feel better, I always boil stuff

rinse 'em in water for sure, . . . anything else you do (boiling, etc.) is optional

i rinse them with hot water
