Terrapin biting FRT

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just saw the woule video and what you see there is male turtle agression in action. The small but full grown male map turtle is trying to court the young male fly because he is, in the map turt understending, the most similar turt to a female map in the tank, its bigger then him and has a big head. The bites to end of the shell seem to be more out of curiosity then anything else but are obnoxious none the least. By its turn the young male fly mistakes a poor musk turtle and treats him like a female fly, in this case the musk has a very high possibility of being seriously bitten. In all a very bad combo:screwy: The fly should be imediatly separeted

Right well i didn't watch all yhe way through because i got fedup of watching the turtles harass each other...

Was there even a basking spot in this setup of the other turts? If not he'll have shell problems in no time, especially with all that aggression.

FRT's don't need a basking spot. They are mainly fully aquatic with the exception that females leave the water to lay eggs.
