Hey, came home tonight to find my pleco (aprox 6-7") missing his tail fin to the bone. And missing one pectoral fin to the bone. Evidently he got in a fight with my blue channel cat (about 10-11") over a hiding spot under some slate the don't want to share. Anyways what is the prognosis of the pleco making it with these injuries? They have been cohabiting now for aprox six months I guess it just came to a boiling point... :( They are in a 125 gallon, I am setting up a 150 now for the catfish, so the pleco just needs to make it a little longer..

Having territorial fish, you need to make sure there are plenty of hiding places they can call home. I have a number of territorial fish in my tank. There are so many hiding places which helps disperse the aggression.

Yeah, have made many caves and hidings spots but it's seems like they want to compete for the same spot. Anyone have any stories of pleco's living through worse war wounds? Or advice for treatment to aid him making it through this (optimistic)?

Id put a little aquarium salt in there to help with recovery, other than that just hope for the best!
