I've heard having 2 redfin plecos in the same tank is no good, they get territorial. I couldn't see plecos trying to kill each other since they're only aggressive when provoked, even then a swipe or push is about it. Anyone suggestions?
Though they do not enjoy each other's company, if the tank is large enough, you won't have a problem. My plecos will run into each other or swat each other from time to time (usually over food rather than space), but no damage has resulted. -Andrew
sounds alright, my pleco get aggressive with the polys but its cause they try to get under him and steal from him, i've got the 95 so I figure they should be fine when the 2nd redfin gets big enough,
Almost all fish of the family (especially subfamily ancistrinae) are territorial to some extent. Unless the rough-housing continues ceaslessly, I wouldn't look too much in to it.
they were sold to me as a redfin pleco but when I look it up its not really it. They look like a gibbeceps but pretty much black with waves accross the body, red on the tips of his fins and they have different shaped fins. i'll post a pic, probably better than that description
Gibbys do fine together, though they are territorial and can kill each other. However, I'd say this is pretty uncommon. If you have the room for these 2 big fish, you'll be fine.
