i have a texas cichlid and a jack dempsey and both when chasing a fish out of their turf they then procced to rub against plants, rocks, or driftwood then go back to normal swiming? what is this behavior i mean they are obviously not trying to mate to my knowledge lol.

Do a big water change and dechlorinate the water with prime. Then see if it persists.

yep i changed the water last night at like 1 am. like a 45-50% change and decholrinated as you said so far no rubbing on things. i was wondering if it was ich too, but i have no fish with ich none have had white spots. i know the scratching is usually a sign of ich.

You might want to add some stress coat if you didn't you prime so you can rebuild that slime coat.

yup i did all that stuff declorinated with prime and added stress coat and now they are acting normal again. so thanks for the wise words. keep an eye out for me pics hopefully the camera will be charged soon
